drugstore deals: skincare routine addition.

as a skincare addict, i am always looking for my next skincare fix.  whether it is high end or drugstore.  if it is going to get the job done then i’ll pay the price.  in this post i have assembled from the plethora of products i own the most cost-effective and efficient skincare items you can purchase from your local drugstore.  we all have different skin types and different skin needs, so as a disclaimer i have to say that just because these products worked for me doesn’t mean they will work for you but because they are affordable i wanted to share.  these particular products i bought from my giant eagle market district.  below are the steps of my skincare routine including the products, their prices and the reasons why i heart them.. don’t break the bank, having beautiful skin can be apart of your budget!

  • STEP 1 – Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil, $9.49: on heavy make up days i like to go in with a cleansing oil to remove my face paint to make the cleansing process easier and more gentle on my skin. this new product by Neutrogena works wonders.  i take a few pumps of the product into dry hands and apply to a dry face using circular motions and focusing on my eyes.  once i feel like i have a good lather worked up i rinse with warm water.  this method works better and more effectively than the Neutrogena make up wipes in my opinion.
  • STEP 2 – CeraVe Foaming Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin Types, $11.59: this is a holy grail product of mine. for real. if you have oily skin that does not mean you should purchase a harsh, drying cleanser.  this one is perfect because it helps control oil but also leaves your skin hydrated. and i’m all about the hydration, kids.  i’ve been using this for about a month and i have noticed my skin having less breakouts, looking more radiant and a lot healthier.  it’s a win.
  • STEP 3 – St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub, $4.19: ok, i’m not gonna lie here. as i was prowling the aisles of my drugstore i saw the words “green tea” written on this product and immediately picked it up to smell it. i’m a sucker for good smells, damn it. but aren’t we all? i struggle with blackheads so between the scent and the name i had to have it. i’ve been using this product for about 2 weeks, every other day and have noticed such a difference in my skin. my blackheads have lessened and my pores have decreased in size. plus this scrub exfoliates leaving my skin super soft. i love when results happen quickly!
  • STEP 4 -Simple Soothing Facial Toner, $6.99: it’s hard to find skin products that don’t use chemically treated ingredients, and this is why i love the Simple brand! they don’t use harsh chemicals, artificial perfumes or dyes. after i cleanse and exfoliate my face i put a few drops onto a cotton pad and gently wipe down my face and neck. this toner restores my skin’s complexion while hydrating it at the same time.
  • STEP 5 – Boots Botanics Age Defense Super Serum, $16.99: the best drugstore serum by far.  leaves your skin feeling smooth, soft, and looking healthy.  i’ve owned this product for 3 months and use it 3 times a week.  it has decreased lines and wrinkles in my face and neck as well as brightened my skin.  great to put on before bedtime to lock in moisture throughout the night plus is lightweight enough to wear under make up.
