sexy, sultry summer skin.

This summer the focus is on skin, in the make-up world that is.  For all you beauty and make-up junkies out there, however, the focus is pretty much year round.  But due to all the attention strobing and highlighting has been receiving in 2016 we know that this trend will carry into summer make-up.

Summer is about fresh faced looks and bright pops of color, that is why the skin is so important.  Personally, I am not a fan of the super matte and powered foundation base any time of year but definitely not in the warmer months. Because of hot weather I think a sheer and light coverage foundation that sits “airy” on the skin is the best way to go (you don’t want to sweat off a painted on face).

My favorite foundation to achieve this fresh faced look is the, somewhat new, Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation.  It has an unbelievable formula – lightweight, sheer but a decent amount of coverage and BUILDABLE.  The finish is very dewy and luminous (hence the name of the product), so if you must use a powder on it to set I would not suggest a heavy powder like the Laura Mercier translucent.  The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Powder would be a great option because it would not take away the dewy-ness of the base.

To add even more of a glow so that the astronauts in outer space can see you walking down the street, the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector is a perfect topper.  I like to place this on the tops of my cheekbones. The foundation and highlight definitely depend on your skin tone so I would go and get matched at your local Sephora before purchasing! These products will no doubt achieve the sexy, sultry summer skin that will reflect a beautiful radiance.
